Getting started

Prepare your iPhone

Enable Developer Mode, turn off automatic screen locking, and choose larger text for Titan.

Complete these settings on each iPhone before starting automation. If a setup or supervision process erases the phone, check them again afterward.

Connect and trust the computer

Connect the iPhone to the computer running Titan Device Agent with a data-capable USB cable. Unlock the phone and accept Trust This Computer if prompted. Enter the phone's passcode when requested.

Enable Developer Mode

Required on iOS 16 and later.

  1. Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Developer Mode and turn on Developer Mode.
  2. Tap Restart when prompted.
  3. After restarting, unlock the iPhone and confirm that you want to enable Developer Mode. Enter the passcode if requested.

The confirmation after restarting is part of enabling the setting. If the option is missing, complete the phone's connection and pairing steps, then check again. See Apple's Developer Mode instructions.

Keep the screen on

Required for automation: set Auto-Lock to Never so the iPhone does not automatically lock its screen.

  1. Open Settings on the iPhone.
  2. Tap Display & Brightness.
  3. Tap Auto-Lock and select Never.

Keep the phone unlocked while automation runs. Selecting Never prevents automatic locking; pressing the side button can still lock the phone.

On supported iPhones, also enable Settings > Display & Brightness > Always On Display. Skip this setting if your model does not offer it.

Always-On Display keeps a dimmed Lock Screen visible while the phone is locked. Auto-Lock > Never is still needed to prevent automatic locking during automation. See Apple's display settings guide.

Use larger text

For easier reading, we recommend increasing text size through Accessibility:

  1. Open Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text.
  2. Enable Larger Accessibility Sizes.
  3. Move the slider to a comfortable, larger size.

You can also enable Bold Text under Display & Text Size. These settings affect apps that support Dynamic Type. Check that buttons remain usable; reduce the size if text crowds the controls. See Apple's larger-text guide.

Sign in to the App Store

Your automations can only open apps that are installed on the phone, and the App Store needs a signed-in Apple ID to download them. Sign in from the App Store profile icon rather than through Settings, so iCloud and Find My stay off. Then install the apps your automations use and sign in to each app's own account. See Apple ID and App Store apps for which identity is used where.

Verify in Titan

Open Devices, choose the phone, and check Runtime Readiness and Provisioning Readiness. Follow any remaining phone-side instructions. For supervised workflows, also follow the supervision manual.
